Understanding our prices
Depending on how many copies you need printing will determine which type of press we use and this will impact on the print price.
If you need only a small amount we will print these on a digital press. For higher quantities we use a traditional newspaper web printing press.
A traditional newspaper web press is huge. As many as eight people or more could be working on the printing process at one time. Huge reels of paper are fed through its various units and within as little as 60 seconds up to 1000 copies of a newspaper can be printed. Importantly it can take as many as 1000 or more newspapers to be wasted* in the preparation process before a good copy is printed. Therefore it is not economical to use this type of press for a small amount of copies.
The digital press is much smaller. As little as one newspaper can be printed on it with no waste. The process however is much, much slower and therefore it is not economical to print higher amounts on it.
Highlighted in orange on the price list are print runs that are more economical to print on the traditional newspaper press but because the press prints so quickly by the time we stop the press we may have printed up to 2500 copies. We offer our customers the choice of having up to 2500 copies printed for the same price or alternatively they can have the exact amount of copies they need and we will recycle the copies not required.
*All of our unused newspapers are recycled.
